Plateau Buster #6

Drink Green Smoothies

This is a simple (and delicious) way of getting past an annoying weight-loss plateau. I’m talking about green smoothies. If you haven’t tried them yet, you definitely should because of their countless health benefits. Now I can almost hear you asking “Why smoothies over juices”?

The answer is simple. While juices have high vitamin and mineral content, they lack the FIBERS. And fibers are darn good when it comes to fat burning. Well, not because fibers have some kind of magical fat-torching properties, it’s because they help to make you feel full without adding the extra calories to your meal. And they also have the essential minerals and vitamins that your body needs. It’s smoothies over juices any day!

A 2015 study (1) suggests that even a low amount of 30 grams of fiber each day can help you to lose weight more easily. According to the study, this tiny amount also helps in lowering blood pressure and improves your body’s reaction to insulin. Now that you know that green smoothies are the way to go if you want to feel full in the HEALTHY way, without those nasty extra calories, you should certainly give them a try.

Here’s VegKitchen’s recipe collection of delicious and healthy smoothies waiting for you to try them out. This is just to make things easier for you. See you next time!
