Sooner or later, but you WILL.
Okay so…
A quick summary of what you’ve learned so far:
- You’ve learned that eating a few bites of food before breakfast is actually helping you to incinerate fat faster and more efficiently
- You’ve learned that drinking a glass of water right after you wake up is a free and simple metabolism booster
- You’ve learned that eating at least one apple a day helps you to lose weight MUCH quicker
Alright, so today’s plateau buster is a bit more complicated than the first three.
But fret not, I’m here to explain.
I’ll stop teasing you, here it is…
Plateau Buster #4
Check Your Cortisol Levels
This can be a big sticking point for many. Everything from stress to not sleeping can interfere with adrenal and cortisol levels. According to Livestrong.com (1), cortisol is a type of hormone from the steroid group known as glucocorticoids. It is the primary stress hormone in your body and is produced by the adrenal glands, which are located on top of the kidneys. On a positive note, it plays a key role in metabolism, helping to determine the best source of energy (carbohydrate, fat or protein) for your body to use. It also plays a key role in your body’s fight-or-flight response, which is critical to survival.
How do you know if you have high levels? Great question! A while back I actually thought that I had adrenal fatigue, which is a byproduct of too much cortisol and stress in life. It sucked, because no matter how much I slept, I was always tired. (Sound familiar?)
The only proper way find out levels is by doing what is called a 24 Hour Cortisol Test. Basically, you spit in little test tubes at different times of the day starting first thing in the morning and finishing up at night. You can get levels tested on your own online, or better yet, try and find a naturopathic doctor online or in your area if possible.
Place to do online is: https://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/cortisol/tab/test/

So, that was all about the role of cortisol levels in busting that darn plateau.
I’ll be sending you my next simple plateau buster soon. So check back.
